Marion Szurek Leadership Award
The TACVB Marion Szurek Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has made substantial contributions to the Texas Tourism industry and exhibits legacy, vision, inspiration, leadership, professionalism, and hospitality.
This recipient has greatly shaped the success of the tourism industry in Texas. Through their commitment and influence, they have dedicated years of service to build a strong foundation for TACVB and for future generations.
Eligibility
Must be a TACVB member in good standing or retiree from a TACVB member organization.
Requirements
LEADERSHIP and PROFESSIONALISM – The awardee is a person that has developed the potential of others in the industry, consistently motivates and influences staff and other industry professionals, and exhibits selflessness which creates a culture of professionalism that is contagious.
LEGACY – The awardee has contributed many years of service to TACVB and the tourism industry. This person has developed and handed down practices, skills, programs and activities that continue to be used.
VISION – The awardee has the vision to see what the future could be for the organization and places great emphasis on professional development. This person exhibits discernment, perception, and intelligent foresight, and is dedicated to planning for the future.
INSPIRATION – The awardee is a person who understands that leaders are models of inspiration for all professionals in the travel and tourism industry, and through their creativity and ingenuity, continue to guide our future direction.
HOSPITALITY – The awardee always gives more than is required or expected. This person demonstrates a spirit of hospitality in their organization, their community, and the tourism industry that has had a lasting effect on the industry.
