JOB SUMMARY: This position supervises the Fredericksburg CVB’s Visitor Information Center, with the mission of providing local information to those visiting the City of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County and those who seek information that will enable them to choose and plan their visit to Fredericksburg. The strategic aim of this position is to increase new and repeat tourism visitation to Fredericksburg and Gillespie County as a premier leisure destination. The VIC supervisor collaborates with all members of the CVB staff and is a key player in the CVB’s Sales team effort.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY: Reports to and works under the supervision of the Vice President of Sales, Services and Strategic Alliances.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the fields of hospitality, marketing or related.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: With direction from the VP of Sales, Services and Strategic Alliances.
Supervise the full-time and part-time Destination Experience Specialist.
Recruit, onboard, supervise, train, and evaluate Visitor Information Center staff.
Schedule staff and approve hours worked for payroll and oversee time off request.
Create monthly part-time work schedules.
Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to ensure staff are knowledgeable and equipped to assist visitors effectively.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff members.
Manage inventory of all brochures in the VIC, including sourcing of externally produced materials.
Handle all visitor inquiries made through VisitFredericksburgTX.com and visitorinfo@fbgtx.org.
Regular and timely attendance is required for this position.
Maintain appearance of Visitor Center inside and outside plaza.
Maintain relationships with regional VICs and State TTC to share materials and updates.
Handle miscellaneous projects on the grounds of the building, including handyman services, parking lot maintenance, landscaping and storage building runs.
Nurture relationships with CVB partners.
Keep the pulse of community happenings including business openings and closures and workforce updates.

Demonstrate an ability and willingness to provide efficient and quality service to both internal and external customers.
Adapt quickly to changing volume of work and responds appropriately and positively to various situations.
Keep informed on trends and events through industry association involvement.
Work cooperatively across organizational departments to ensure consistency of messaging and leverage existing resources where appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS:
Supervisor/Management experience required.
Must reside in or relocate to Gillespie County or adjoining areas.
Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 40 lbs.
Ability to quickly develop a complete working knowledge of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County including all its attractions and amenities.
Must have effective verbal and written communication, presentation, organizational skills.
Proficiency with computer and internet use, including Microsoft Office application software including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Keen interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to multitask.
Ability to work irregular hours, including but not limited to evenings and weekends.
Strong project management and time management skills.
Ability to manage and complete multiple simultaneous projects.
Dynamic personality with the ability to shift modes of operation seamlessly.
Ability to analyze data to assess performance and ROI.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with visitors and stakeholders.
Have or obtain within thirty days of hire a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record and possess reliable transportation.
