Summary of Duties: The Senior Sales Specialist’s main job function is in promoting The Woodlands as a destination for conventions and group business in order to book new business within the 14 hotels in The Woodlands boundaries. The Senior Sales Specialist is responsible for the development and complete oversight of their sales markets and to work in conjunction with the Sales Manager in all sales related initiatives. This position will include sales related travel throughout the year and development of new contacts, leads, and clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a deep understanding of assigned sales market models, trends, and business opportunities.
Understanding of the incentive fund process with the ability to calculate funds allocated and available for individual groups within assigned sales markets, this includes organization and tracking of the incentive funds offered to groups.
Sell The Woodlands as a destination by establishing contacts and developing relationships with prospects within assigned sales markets.
Distribution of assigned sales market leads and RFPs to local hotels.
Respond to client inquiries and offer exceptional service that helps to win business.
Development, oversight, and execution of itineraries and logistics for Sales Blitzes, FAM trips, and client site tours.
Creation of unique presentations and promotions for convention bids and any needed presentation materials to win and book business.
Represent Visit The Woodlands at industry trade shows, conventions, sales blitzes, and state-sponsored events.
Preparation and handling of all assigned tradeshow needs including appointment scheduling, prospecting and more.
Track individual sales productivity and traces within the Simpleview CRM Database and organization/oversight of the Meeting Sales CRM Module.
Offer seamless turnover of booked business to the Servicing Specialist, and offering of all services during the selling process.
Maintain relationships with local hotels, restaurants and merchants to stay knowledgeable of businesses and amenities offered in The Woodlands.
Provide a high level of customer service to department customers and others by answering questions and providing information on procedures through the Visit The Woodlands Group Line, walk-ins, etc.
Meet quarterly group booking goals.
Preparation of materials for Board Meetings, monthly reports, and quarterly reports.
Attend a variety of meetings related to departmental and interdepartmental activities and programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others but will oversee specific servicing requests assigned to the Senior Sales Specialist.
