The organization drives economic growth through tourism marketing and destination development to improve quality of life for Bryan’s residents.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As the Content Coordinator at Destination Bryan, you will play a crucial role in developing, curating, and distributing engaging content across various platforms to inspire our key audiences to discover our Bryan legends. You will work as part of the marketing team to ensure that our messaging is consistent, compelling, and aligns with our brand values. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, strong writing & communication skills, a high level of creativity, and a passion for storytelling.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Content Creation: Generate compelling written, visual, and multimedia content that showcases the attractions, events, and experiences available in Bryan, Texas. This includes blog posts, articles, social media posts, short-form video, photos, and more.
- Content Curation: Research, identify, and curate relevant content from various sources to supplement our original content and enhance our brand narrative. Ensure all curated content aligns with our brand voice and messaging.
- Content Calendar Management: Work closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and maintain a content calendar to plan and organize content creation and distribution across multiple platforms. Coordinate with Destination Bryan’s events, community engagement, and business development teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and programs.
- Social Media Management: Manage and monitor our social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Create engaging posts, respond to comments and messages, and actively engage with our audience to foster community and increase brand awareness. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications and PR & Communications Coordinator to develop and maintain a social media strategy exceeding industry standards.
- Website Management: Update and maintain content on our website to ensure accuracy, relevance, and freshness. Collaborate with out third-party web vendors to optimize user experience, implement SEO best practices, and maintain the most inspiring and informative website in the Brazos Valley.
- Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance metrics related to content engagement, reach, and conversion. Use data insights to refine content strategies and optimize performance over time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or related experience in marketing, communications, journalism, tourism, or closely related field
- Proven experience in content creation, preferably in the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed
- Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the Bryan-College Station, Texas area
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license
PROFICENCIES & ABILITIES:
- Exceptional writing, communication, and proofing skills with demonstrated experience required
- Creative mind with an ability to conceive inspiring ideas
- Proficiency in multimedia content creation tools and platforms, including Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, and in-app social media tools
- Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout, Google Analytics)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of audience engagement strategies
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and web content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is a plus
- Knowledge of the destination's attractions, events, and tourism industry is a plus
- Flexibility and ability to work in a changing and dynamic environment
