The Allen DMP will be held on Wednesday (October 25) and Thursday (October 26) at the Hilton Garden Inn Dallas Allen and is hosted by the Allen Convention & Visitors Bureau. Sponsors for this seminar include the Allen Convention & Visitors Bureau, Orange142, and Nine Band Brewing Company.

Destination Marketing Principles is designed especially for local and regional DMO staff, hotel and attractions partners, elected officials, board members, and volunteers and advocates. The seminar offers a full day of information that is beneficial to anyone involved in promoting a destination to visitors.

The first half of the day is dedicated to the principles of destination marketing. The morning session features information on all aspects of DMO operations including structure, funding, markets and marketing strategies, responsibilities, measurement, hotel occupancy tax usage, partnerships, trends, and much more. This session is taught by two DMO CEOs who have decades of combined experience in DMO operations.

The upcoming Destination Marketing Principles Seminar will also feature four engaging afternoon sessions, one from Cambria Jones with the Allen CVB, two from Gary Sanchez with VisitDallas, and a lunchtime session from Orange142.

We are also offering a great Allen heritage tour experience. The Allen Historic Water Station is a Texas State Archaeological Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We will tour the interpretive trail through Allen's historic Houston and Texas Central Railway Water Station located within Allen Station Park that showcases the preservation of the existing historic features, including the last known remaining Stone Dam from the Steam engine era built in 1873, water tower foundations, interpretative trail, signage and overlooks. The tour also includes a tour of the Allen Train Depot and Allen Heritage Village. This tour is offered for an additional $30.

And please make plans to join us for a welcome reception at Nine Band Brewery beginning at 6:30 pm on Wednesday night! Earn 16 TDM credit hours by attending the seminar and tour.
