SUMMARY OF PRINCIPAL & MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Leisure Engagement Manager is responsible for overseeing all administrative, managerial, and performance-based aspects of the Visitor Center(s) for Visit Corpus Christi, the Destination Management Organization for the city of Corpus Christi. This includes execution and implementation of strategic objectives for the Visitor Center goals as they relate to the overall mission of Visit Corpus Christi. The Manager will be expected to proactively propose innovative ideas to improve and enhance the visitor experience.
PAY STATUS: EXEMPT
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):
-Manage successful operation of Brick-and-Mortar Visitor Center
-Manage successful operation of Gulf Coasters Mobile Program
-Assemble and analyze relevant data, prepare, and deliver monthly reports detailing retail and leisure engagement activities
-Develop and document all standard operating procedures for Visitor Information Center(s)
-Recruit, hire, and evaluate the performance of Visitor Center personnel and volunteers
-Oversee the development and coordination of all job-specific training and on-going education of all Visitor Center staff
-Ensure all Visitor Center staff maintain excellent visitor service standards and adhere to all policies and procedures
-Develop and maintain close relationships with tourism and hospitality industry and develop opportunities to cultivate quality visitor experience opportunities for leisure and group travel segments
-Lead hospitality training programs for key partner employees
-Ensure an excellent guest experience for all visitors to Corpus Christi
-Conduct research for special Visitor Experiences projects, to complete reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences
-Work with VP of Experience to develop talking points, packages, and special communications to key stakeholders.

Education, Training and Experience:
Three years’ experience in a related field with recent experience in management preferably with an emphasis on customer service within the restaurant management, retail management, travel and tourism industries
License/Certifications: Must have valid driver’s license
Computer Software: Microsoft Office, (Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams skills required), Basecamp
Equipment to be Used and Operated: Telephone; Computer; Copy machine; Postage machine; and Scanner
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for extended periods of time. Shall be able to apply 25 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must be able to view computer screen for an extended period. Must have clear close-up vision.
