Kim Phillips is the Executive Director of the Texas Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus (TACVB). In this capacity, Kim helps provide TACVB members with professional development opportunities and tools to help meet the changing needs of members, meeting planners, and visitors to our state. 


Phillips joins TACVB effective February 4, 2019 after serving 16 years as Vice President of the Denton Convention & Visitors Bureau. She is highly involved at the regional and state levels of the tourism industry, having served as Chair of the Texas Travel Industry Association (TTIA) Board of Directors, TACVB Board of Directors, the Dallas Fort Worth Area Tourism Council, and the Texas Lakes Trail Region of the Texas Heritage Trails program.

In 2016, Phillips was honored with the annual Texas Department of Transportation’s Gene Phillips Hospitality Award recognizing her distinguished career and longstanding efforts on behalf of the state’s travel industry. And in 2017 she was presented TACVB’s Legacy Award for her vision, inspiration, leadership, professionalism and hospitality.

"I am passionate about the tourism industry and the vital role Convention & Visitors Bureaus play in their communities to promote healthy, balanced local economies," said Phillips. "The TACVB Board has great vision for moving our organization to a new level of CVB member support and educational programming, and I am humbled by their confidence that I can lead us there."
