Using Marketing to Improve Destination Sales Performance presented by

Daryl Whitworth (Madden Media)

DMO Marketing Professionals are always on the top of their game when using new digital marketing tools to help inspire visitors to come to their destination. But sometimes the CVB Sales team doesn't always get information and insights on tools to help them generate leads and reach new meeting and sports planners.  This session will discuss ways you can help your sales team.

Websites are the most critical part of the marketing strategy for DMOs. However, the way websites are purchased, designed and built is more similar to publishing a book than part of an agile, integrated marketing strategy. This is why the Growth-Driven Design (GDD) process is an optimal solution for DMO websites. Traditional website design timelines move too slowly, and clients need a way for their website to quickly and dynamically respond to ever changing marketing needs.

10:30 AM - 11:45 AM:: BREAKOUT SESSION

Keeping Up with the Digital Joneses presented by Holly Russell  (AJR  Media Group)

The digital advertising industry has more than likely introduced a new way to reach your target market in the amount of time it took you to read this sentence. As a destination marketing professional, it’s hard to not get caught up in the latest digital trend (anyone remember QR codes?), especially when your peers are jumping right in. While new trends have their place, the tried and true digital advertising methods should not be immediately cyber kicked to the curb.

In this session, we will showcase the newest digital advertising trends and highlight the benefits and potential pitfalls of each one. In addition, we will share how other destinations have incorporated the new trends with the tried and true and the resulting ROI. You will walk away with the knowledge and confidence to implement an integrated digital media plan that will drive visitation, conference bookings and sports events to your destination. Before you know it, the Digital Joneses will be trying to keep up with you.

11:45 AM - 1:00 PM:: GROUP LUNCHEON
1:00 PM - 1:30 PM:: VENDOR TABLETOP EXPO
1:30 PM - 2:45 PM:: BREAKOUT SESSION

If your entire UGC strategy is comprised of a well-placed widget on your homepage, then you are missing the boat. Nearly half of the top-performing content marketing leaders today rely exclusively on User-Generated Content for all of their marketing efforts. Not only is UGC more effective than stock photography, it could also save your organization thousands of dollars in production costs. Tools like Stackla make it easy for DMOs to collect and curate quality content, and secure rights management for use in your marketing campaigns. In this session, you will learn how to make UGC work for you beyond the homepage of your website.
