New Hires and Goodbyes

Visit Bastrop

The Visit Bastrop Board of Directors has announced that Susan Smith has been selected as the organization’s President/CEO. Susan will assume responsibility on September 24, 2018.

We're sad to say goodbye to Dale Lockett, interim Executive Director for Visit Bastrop. We cannot thank Dale enough for his leadership and direction during this critical, building stage for this new organization. He will be greatly missed!  


Visit Frisco

Stacie Esteban with Visit Frisco has been promoted to Senior Sales Manager. In her time at Visit Frisco, Stacie has substantially grown the corporate market and, so far this year, 97% of her definite room nights are new business! Stacie also serves on the MPI Board and always ensures her clients are well taken care of.   


Travel Texas

In June 2018, Kristie Spoleti joined the Texas Tourism team as an Advertising Specialist. Kristie brings over 6 years of industry experience, with previous roles in media planning, ad operations, and digital marketing. 

Jessika Alexander is a bilingual marketing and public relations professional with a passion for the travel industry. Her experience promoting Texas cities to international and domestic markets includes working for the Laredo Convention and Visitors. 

Spencer Streetman, Administrative Assistant,  comes to the Travel Texas team most recently from the Convention and Visitors Bureau at Visit Austin, where she was a coordinator in Convention Services, Visitor Information, and Retail services for 4 years.   


Marshall Convention & Visitors Bureau

Rachel Skowronek is leaving her post as Tourism, Promotions, and Communications Coordinator. Rachel joined the Marshall CVB in 2015. She has worked to revamp City branding efforts & events. She will be transitioning to Main Street Manager, allowing her to focus solely on downtown experiences, preservation & new local business recruitment.

Mallori James joins the Marshall CVB as Tourism and Marketing Manager. She will continue to implement a robust and creative marketing strategy to attract tourists, and enhancing natural, cultural, and arts opportunities for City visitors and residents.  


South Padre Island Convention & Visitors Bureau
Travis Milum is the newest Senior Sales Manager for the South Padre Island Convention & Visitors Bureau. With 10 years experience in the tourism industry, he will be leading the SPI Team in Corporate & Association Group & Meeting Sales.
