TACVB’s  New Sales Symposium and Sales Blitz Offers Top Notch DMO Sales Training. Don’t Miss Out!

Coming up right around the corner is TACVB’s inaugural Sales Symposium and Sales Blitz at the  DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Austin, TX on February 27-28, 2018.

The 2018 Sales Symposium is part of a 3-event series (Sales, Marketing, and Leadership Symposiums).  Each Symposium is a short, hyper-focused event designed to deliver current, relevant, experiential knowledge and skills to DMO professionals. The Sales Symposium will feature a hands-on skills lab covering our new TxMET leads platform as well as sales blitz training, a general session, several breakout sessions, and a tabletop vendor expo.  All sessions are designed to provide a deep dive into the topic being presented.

The complete schedule is available online, but here is a sneak peek at the sessions we’re offering:

  • The Negotiation Tango – Mark Spears
  • Sold! Close More Sales with a Knock Out Sales Presentation – Mark Spears
  • Selling to Government Meeting Planners – Brett Sterenson, Hotel Lobbyists
  • Million Dollar Prospecting – Lisa  Barham, Hotel Resources
  • Building and Maintaining Relationships with Hotel Partners – Panel of Hotel and DMO partners
  • Needs and Wants of Meeting Planners – Panel of Meeting Planners
  • Case Study: Visit Austin’s Digital Meeting Planning Tool – Susan Richardson, Visit Austin

Sales Blitz

As an added value to the Sales Symposium, TACVB is bringing back the Sales Blitz. The Blitz is offered for an additional registration fee and will be held immediately following the Sales Symposium on March 1, 2018.  The Sales Blitz provides cooperative action to enhance and encourage the use of convention and visitor bureaus by Texas meeting planners.  More information on the Sales Blitz is available here.

Objectives of the Blitz

  1. Form teams of DMO sales professionals to make calls on Austin-based organizations.
  2. Promote the use of DMOs by meeting planners.
  3. Educate meeting planners about the DMO industry and the value of using DMOs.
  4. Generate new and updated information for TACVB’s Texas Meetings & Event Tracking (TxMET) platform.
  5. Represent all Texas DMOs and TACVB on this blitz, not individual cities.

Registration is now open for both the Sales Symposium and the optional Sales Blitz. For more information, updates on the schedule and speakers, and to register, we invite you to visit the Sales Symposium page on our website.
