TACVB offers many ways to get involved. Our mission as an organization is successful because of the contributions of time, talent, and the expertise of our members. TACVB's committees provide a way for members to help shape the direction of our association. All committees meet via conference call and share information via email to be respectful of committee members' time.

Annual Convention Committee
Assists the TACVB Chief Executive Officer in the planning and execution of the annual conference. This committee approves the agenda, menus, and final programs for the Annual Conference. Committee also promotes event attendance at Annual Conference and provides assistance with operation of programs.
Oversees the annual conference and summits bid process. The purpose of this committee is to coordinate with TACVB staff on distributing request for proposals to city’s interested in hosting TACVB conferences. This committee receives and reviews all bid forms submitted and coordinates with bidding cities for presentations at annual conference.
Devoted to strengthening professional relationships and network opportunities among TACVB members, allied travel organizations, and government officials. The purpose of this committee is to strengthen public relations and implement marketing strategies for the association through various media avenues.
Responsibilities include selecting seminar topics and speakers for the summits, annual conference, and other TACVB sponsored seminars. Works hand-in-hand with the Annual Conference Committee to promote attendance to events.
Oversees the income and expenditures of the association. This committee is responsible for cross referencing and approving accounts payable and executing the budget process for the next fiscal year.
The unsung hero of all TACVB committees! When you are on this committee, you get to help shape and mold the way we celebrate all the hard work we do to make our destinations shine! This committee requires quarterly commitment to phone calls and 90 days prior to the Annual Conference bi-weekly to weekly work to help improve the new www.tacvbideafair.com website.
Committed to the recruitment of new members and retention of current members. Responsibilities of this committee include: promote TACVB membership to convention & visitor bureaus, destination marketing organizations, chambers, and industry affiliates to help grow the association; provide membership reports to the board of directors, as needed; conduct a bi-annual membership drive and membership survey on alternating years.
Policies/Procedures & Bylaws Committee
Ensures that the association is in compliance with the organization’s governing documents. The purpose of this committee is to work with the executive director and past board members to provide recommended updates and revisions to the Bylaws & Policies and Procedures Manual of the association.
Collects, assembles, and distributes industry related resources/data/tools through electronic presentation, files, sample document, etc. to assist tourism professionals. This committee has the responsibility of distributing a resource library brochure to members at the annual meeting.
Scholarship & Professional Grant Committee
Reviews all TACVB professional grant and scholarship applications for conferences on an annual basis and recommends scholarship awards to the TACVB Board of Directors. Other responsibilities include the planning and implementation of the silent auction at annual conference.
Texas Destination Marketer (TDM)
Assists the Executive Director and staff in the oversight of the TDM Program. Responsibilities of this committee include working with the education committee to ensure each educational session receives the appropriate credit to maximize participant’s use of time for gaining certification. This committee works to ensure that the TDM program is meeting the professional development needs of association members.
Texas Meeting & Events Tracking (TxMET)
Committed to maintaining the TxMET information network and setting standards for quality control of TxMET data and reports. This committee is responsible for facilitating the TxMET workshop at the annual convention and updating the board of directors on TxMET matters.
Young Professional Committee
Create and implement programs to assist professional members of TACVB who are 40 years of age or younger. The Young Professionals Committee will work with other committees to enhance opportunities for young professional participation and help ease transition of early career professional members into the workforce through specific programs designed to create professional awareness.
