City of Bastrop continues to make progress on new DMO
The City of Bastrop approved creating a Destination Marketing Organization in December of 2016 based on recommendations from Wisconsin based DMO Proz. Phase 2: Initiation of the DMO has begun with the continued assistance of Bill Geist and Terri White of DMO Proz. Visit Bastrop is excited to announce that interim DMO Director Dale Lockett, previously of Visit Albuquerque will help lead the DMO Start up Board to continue to set up the organization by negotiating a contract with the City of Bastrop, establishing policies and procedures and developing guidelines for the Board of Directors. The City hopes to have this process completed in the next 90 days and will begin the search for a full time executive director.
Staff Changes at the Frisco Convention & Visitors Bureau
After 13 years with the Frisco CVB, Administrative Assistant, Vicki Blakely, has retired. Vicki was the CVB’s second employee after it was founded in 2004. Through her time in Frisco, Vicki has not only become an integral part of the City of Frisco team, but has been involved and supportive of the Texas Travel Industry as a whole for many, many years. She will missed by her Frisco family. Once retired, Vicki plans to travel, play golf and enjoy more of her favorite hobby, dancing.
The Frisco CVB announces the addition of Sandy Shell as Administrative Assistance. A resident of Frisco since 2001, Sandy has been here to experience the vast growth of the city and has been extremely involved in the community through a variety of volunteer organizations. Her knowledge and passion for Frisco make her a great fit for the team.
Funtrackers Family Fun Center
Funtrackers Family Fun Center in Corpus Christi is excited to welcome Tiffany Selvey to the team in the position of Assistant General Manager. Tiffany was formerly the General Manager of the Arcade and Family Entertainment Center in Great Wolf Lodge located in the Poconos Mountains, PA.

Visit Lubbock Welcomes a New Sales Manager
Visit Lubbock is excited to announce the promotion of Lisa Branson from sales and servicing coordinator to sales manager.
In her new role, Branson’s primary market focus includes education, social, fraternal, wedding and reunion groups. She will proactively work to promote Lubbock as a convention and meeting destination.
Branson’s passion for the tourism industry began in college where she spent some time in Italy studying wine tourism. Upon graduation, she developed her client relations skills while working at The Broadmoor, a AAA Five Diamond resort in Colorado Springs, Colo.
“The Visit Lubbock Team celebrates Lisa’s transition into her new role on our sales team,” said John Osborne, president and CEO of Visit Lubbock. “With her knowledge of the industry and unique perspective, I am confident she will excel as a sales manager and draw more visitors to our city.”
Branson’s previous role as Visit Lubbock’s sales and servicing coordinator allowed her to see the West Texas hospitality Lubbock is known for as she provided assistance to clients and communicated regularly with group representatives and area hotels.
As a graduate of Texas Tech University, Branson received a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management. She served as the university’s homecoming coordinator and worked with various departments within the Texas Tech Student Union and Activities. Branson went on to attain a Master of Tourism Management from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo.
McKinney CVB Hires Ashley Ford as New Administrative Assistant
Ashley Ford joined the McKinney CVB in early 2017, serving as the first point of contact for visitors to city. While greeting guests to the Visitors Center and routing phone calls, Ashley is able to put to use her skills and passion for customer service and hospitality. In addition to welcoming visitors, she also assists staff with a wide variety of duties including brochure inventory, writing and posting Board minutes and agendas, lead tracking and more.
During her 20-plus years in administration and public relations, Ashley has enjoyed a variety of career experiences including career positions from radio disc jockey on 98.5 to Inflight Training for Southwest Airlines.
When not at the office, Ashley loves spending time riding Arabian horses, hunting and continuing her education in music and the arts. She lives on the edge of northern Collin County and southern Grayson County with her beautiful, trombone-playing middle school daughter.
Ashley was hired to fill the position vacated by Vanesa Rhodes when she was promoted to Sales Manager in late 2016.
